Media mogul and two-time Republican presidential candidate Steve Forbes may be warming up to the Donald.
Last week, House Speaker Paul Ryan had a sit down with Donald Trump to make sure the GOP’s frontrunner will stay in line with the party’s principles.
That meeting was, as Forbes told CNBC, a step in the right direction. "It shows Trump knows he's got to bring this party together," Forbes said.
However, he added that Trump still needs some refining to do for the general election. "[Trump] has got to change his campaign game plan, in the sense you just can't toss off comments anymore," he said.
The Trump-Ryan meeting wasn’t enough to get Ryan to endorse, but still brought out some unusual character traits of the famed billionaire.
“We will be having additional discussions, but remain confident there's a great opportunity to unify our party and win this fall," they both said in a joint statement following the meeting.
Despite the no-go on the endorsement, Ryan said that Trump was “very warm and genuine.”
