Gingrich & Christie Being Vetted for Trump VP

It has been revealed today that the leading candidate for Trump’s running mate is former House speaker Newt Gingrich followed by New Jersey Governor Chris Christie. Trump’s campaign has asked both men to submit documents for the vetting process including extensive personal and professional files.

Trump acknowledged that Christie was under consideration as his running mate for the presidential race. "I'm certainly looking at him and I always will. Whether it's for that or something else," Trump told radio host Howie Carr. Trump's adviser also mentioned that Gingrich is being "seriously considered" for the job; he is considered experienced and has the right toughness for the job. Gingrich, who was speaker of the House, is smart, media-savvy and liked by mainstream Republicans.

Choosing the right vice presidential candidate is important in easing Republican concerns about Trump’s lack of political expertise. Political commentators believe that he will pick someone that is a duplicate version of himself and that will follow his ‘successful’ branding, not someone who will offset him.

Do we really need another Trumpeteer to run the country?
