Buddhist spiritual leader the Dalai Lama, known for his compassion and respect of others is taking a hardline against refugees in Europe in an interview with a German newspaper.
In an interview with Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, the Dalai Lama warned that “Germany cannot become an Arab country.”
In the interview, he admitted that there humans who are more fortunate have a duty to help those who aren’t; however, he also added that there are too many refugees in Europe.
More than 1.1 million refugees have entered Germany, escaping wor-torn countries like Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan. The Dalai Lama said that there should be limits on Europe’s response to what some have described as a humanitarian crisis.
"From a moral point of view too, I think the refugees should only be admitted temporarily,” he said in the interview. “The goal should be that they return and help rebuild their countries."
The spiritual leader’s comments are interesting considering that he is a refugee himself. In 1959 the Dalai Lama led thousands of his fellow Tibetans to India where they have lived in exile ever since. According to 2009 census records about 129,000 Tibetans live in exile in India and those born in the country have a right to vote.
I guess the Tibetan oppression of the Chinese is a lot more important than moderate Muslims and other religious orders fleeing countries being oppressed by radical Muslim factions and cruel dictators.
Who could have guess that the Dalia Lama is a Donald Trump supporter who has called for a ban on Muslims entering America.
