Hillary Clinton off the Hook? FBI Comey Press Conference Concludes

Hillary Clinton seems to be off the hook for the email scandal, this according to FBI Director James Comey. In a press conference Tuesday, he said that Clinton didn't intentioanlly detele emails and that there is "no direct evidence" that she was "hacked successfully."

Although the FBI is not recommending any charges be brought against the presumptive Democratic Presidential candidate, Comey had some pretty hard criticism saying that Clinton and her staff were careless in handling classified and sensitive emails.

Comey said they found eight email chains that contained classified information. He added that even if information wasn’t classified Clinton and her staff should have known subject matter was sensitive and should have been protected.

Comey also criticized the State Department saying that the department handled classified information with much less care compared to other government agencies.

Despite being careless, Comey said that they found no evidence of intentional misconduct nor any disloyalty to the country.

“We cannot find a case that would support the prosecution in this instance,” he said.

Finally Comey also defending the FBI’s investigation saying that the investigation was done: “honestly, competently and independently.”
