The long weekend is finally here and let’s hope that you aren’t flying anywhere as you could be in for a long wait. Long security wait lines have been making headlines all week as people voice their frustration with the Transportation Security Administration. In fact the TSA is warning people as they prepare for the Memorial Day long weekend that they arrive at the airport two hours for domestic flights and three hours for international flights. Thursday Reuters reported that 70,000 travelers missed American Airline flights this year because of screening and security delays, this according to the airlines comments at a congressional subcommittee. According to the TSA, a shortage of staff and a surge in travelers has created the perfect storm where airports like Chicago’s O’Hare has seen wait time stretch to two hours. Times ranked the eight worst airports that have the lowest percentage of on-time departures. 1: San Francisco (SFO) at71.82% 2: Miami (MIA) at 76.03% 3: For Lauderdale (FLL) at 76.06% 4: Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) at 76.64% 5: Denver (DEN) at 77.21% 6: New York (LGA) at 77.38% 7: Los Angeles (LAX) at 77.40% 8: Orlando (MCO) at 78.35% So if you are travelling this weekend make sure your iPad or iPhone is charged so you can take your frustration out on Twitter.
