During an interview with conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt, The Republican presidential candidate reaffirmed his claim that President Obama was effectively a ‘founder’ of the Islamic State terrorist group.
“He was the founder ... The way he got out of Iraq was the founding of Isis,” Trump insisted.
Hewitt gave Trump the opportunity to reframe his remark by telling him: : “I know what you meant – you meant that he created the vacuum, he lost the peace.”
Trump disagreed. “No, I meant that he’s the founder of Isis, I do,” he said. “He was the most valuable player; I gave him the most valuable player award. I give her too, by the way,” he continued, referring to Hillary Clinton.
Trump did acknowledge that his argument stemmed from the fact that if Obama “had done things properly, you wouldn’t have had Isis”, but he repeated: “Therefore, he was the founder of Isis.”
He also added that if he is unsuccessful in his quest for President, he will take a “a very, very nice long vacation” after November 8. Good for him!
Trump’s "Obama founded ISIS" comments are outrageous. They’re also deeply ignorant. https://t.co/HaAeZz4luw
