Donald Trump continues to feel the effects of his racist comments regarding Mexico as the PGA Tour has moved the World Gold Championships to Mexico City from Trump Doral in Miami. According to the PGA the move was not politically motivated, but a business decision as they were worried of not being able to secure sponsorships at a Trump-owned golf course. "The decision here was based on the reality that we are not able to secure sponsorship for next year's WGC at Doral or for years out for that matter,” said PGA Tour Commissioner Tim Finchem at a press conference The new WGC will be sponsored by the Grupo Salinas conglomerate. Cadillac was the main sponsor of the Miami tournament. In his usually bombastic style, Trump acknowledge the role his divisive comments on Mexico had on the PGA’s decision. He continued to double down on the fact that the PGA is just out to make profits.
At an event in Sacrament Trump comment on the news in his bombastic style: “Think of it. They, the PGA Tour moved the World Gold Championships from Miami, where they are furious, to Mexico City. Not good.” “But that’s okay,” he added. “Folks it’s all going to be settled. You vote for Donald Trump for President. If I become your President this stuff is all going to stop.” Of course he never actually address how he would stop the PGA, a private company, from moving its tournament to another location? I don’t even think he realizes that this was a problem of his own making. His comments drove the PGA to find a new venue and if Miami is going to be furious with anyone it should be Trump. If he didn’t call Mexican’s drug dealers and rapists the tournament would probably have stayed in Florida. This isn’t the first time Trump’s comments has hurt his business deals, after making his idiotic comments about Mexicans almost a year ago, Macy’s announced that was dropping his men’s clothing line. At the same time, NBC also cut its business ties with the tiny-fingered businessman cancelling Trumps “Apprentice” reality show and refusing to air the Miss Universe Pageant. Trump had to buy out NBC’s share of the show so he could get it aired on Fox. His name is even trying to be erased in Toronto Canada. The Developers of the Canadian Trump Towers defaulted in their loans and as a result are looking to sell the building. Potential new owners are expected to remove the name so they can attract buyers and hotel guests. The reality is that the more Trump speaks the more he is tarnishing his brand. He is his own worst enemy and doesn’t even realize it.
