Voters are ready to have their say in the Acela primary. Named after an Amtrak train that rides from Boston to Washington, this round of primaries has millions of voters from Rhode Island, Delaware, Connecticut, Maryland and Pennsylvania ready to cast their vote for the next U.S. president.
With the number of delegates well ahead of the rest for Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, other GOP and DEM candidates search for ways to woo delegates in their favor.
Trump’s son mentioned on CNN that “[Ted] Cruz can only win by bribing the delegates” but Sen. Cruz had a better strategy. By teaming up with Republican opponent Gov. John Kasich, Cruz hopes to block Trump from reaching the 1,237 delegates needed to get the GOP nomination.
Meanwhile, Clinton is ahead of Bernie Sanders after beating him in New York last week. Although Sanders has outspent Clinton on radio and TV ads in the five Acela states, Clinton is able to attract minority groups as well as use gun-control support ads.
Perhaps the battle will end with a head-to-head fight between Trump and Clinton, but we cannot say that the others did not give up too easily.
