HBO’s Oliver Invites “John Miller, Not Trump” To Come on ‘Last Week Tonight’

Donald Trump, aside from being the GOP’s likely nominee, is adamant about Making America Great Again and creating more jobs. But, I doubt he thought he’d even be giving late night comedians enough material to make their shows great again!

HBO’s ‘Last Week Tonight’ hosted by comedian John Oliver poked fun at Trump’s latest mishap. According to report and released tapes, the Donald posed as his own publicist in the 80s, calling him John Miller.

After playing a few of the recording for his audience, the HBO host said that Miller was “so perfectly Donald Trump.”

“Even his imaginary alter ego reflexively brags about himself,” he said jokingly.

Oliver, after noting that Trump had admitted to playing the Miller persona years back, suggested that Trump could have made this issue blow over by simply admitting to the same thing again. But, of course, the Donald again does the unexpected…

Appearing on NBC after the tapes were released – a clip Oliver played for his audience – Trump said “No, I don’t know anything about it, you’re telling me about it for the first time and it’s not my voice at all.”

Oliver has a simple solution to solve this John Miller mystery…

“Tonight, I would like to extend an invitation to John Miller, publicist, to appear on this program,” the host said. “To be clear, this is not an invitation to Donald Trump, who has never and will never be invited here for an interview.”

But, the sarcasm couldn’t hold him back:

“Please, come on by John Miller there’s literally nothing stopping you other than the fact that you obviously don’t exist,” Oliver exclaimed.

There was also Trump’s latest meeting with House Speaker Paul Ryan, which Oliver used for some more great material for his audience.

According to Oliver, the GOP’s latest efforts to try to work with Trump are simple: Trump needs GOP money for the general election, and the Republicans don’t want to alienate the billionaire’s voters.

OR…as Oliver put it: “Trump and the Republican establishment are like a teenage Christian couple who’ve made an abstinence pledge,” he said. “They are going to have sex, it is just a matter of time, but they still need to make a big show of resisting it for anyone who might be paying attention.”
