"A Seminal Moment for Women”: Oprah Endorses Clinton

It’s about time we hear from Oprah! Oprah, one of the most successful women and influential figures in media, has confirmed her support for Hillary Clinton as President of the United States.

With her support of then-presidential nominee during his 2008 presidential campaign, Winfrey’s endorsement of Obama was claimed to secure over one million votes in the primary race and that without her support, Obama would have lost the nomination. Could the same hold true for Clinton?

During the interview on “Good Morning America”, she was asked whether she would support one of the current candidates of the presidential race. Her response was “I will get behind one. I’m with her. I have to say I’m with her” – referring to Clinton’s campaign slogan “I’m with her”.

Oprah went on to say “regardless of your politics, you cannot be a woman in the world and not see that this is a monumental time for women breaking the ceiling. Talk about breaking the ceiling!”

She now joins other celebrities that have pledged support for Hillary, including George Clooney, Robert De Niro, Kerry Washington and Beyonce.
